Simple Plant, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park
I made this photograph on May 3, 2013. The location of this image is Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Santa Cruz County. The park is located just off Highway 9 near Felton. It runs along the San Lorenzo River. I saw this plant while walking along the Pipeline Road which runs from the entrance of the park to Graham Hill Road (about 5 miles). I don't know what the name of the plant is, but it is a small plant only a few inches high.
For this image I used 2 Olympus E-PL1 digital cameras mounted next to each other (with one upside down so that the lenses would be closer together). The cameras had been converted to infra-red sensitivity by LifePixel. In infra-red photography green foliage becomes very light toned. The exposures were 1/5 second at f/8 (ISO 100). The lens was adjusted to the 35mm equivalent of 58mm. You can see the image in the format you prefer by clicking on one of the following: parallel, cross-eyed, or anaglyph (red/cyan glasses).
