Western Coltsfoot, Columbia Gorge
I made this photograph on June 30, 2012 in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon while hiking to Wahclella Falls. The hike to the waterfall was only one mile up Tanner Creek. It was very picturesque all the way and the falls were stunning. I didn't make an image of the waterfall because I didn't bring the right equipment with me, but I will do it in the future. There are so many beautiful areas in the Columbia Gorge that it is hard to decide where to go. If you make plans to go, there an excellent book to look at called "Curious Gorge" by Scott Cook. He also has a website: http://curiousgorgeblog.wordpress.com.
For this image I used 2 Olympus E-PL1 digital cameras mounted next to each other (with one upside down so that the lenses would be closer together). The cameras had recently been converted to infra-red sensitivity by LifePixel. In infra-red photography green foliage becomes very light toned. The exposures were 1 second at f/8 (ISO 100). The lenses were adjusted to the 35mm equivalent of 50mm. You can see the image in the format you prefer by clicking on one of the following: parallel, cross-eyed, or anaglyph (red/cyan glasses).
