San Jose City Hall
___I made this image on January 23, 2012. The San Jose City Hall is located at 200 East Santa Clara Street in San Jose. It was designed by architect Richard Meier who also designed the Getty Center in Los Angeles. It was intended to be environmentally friendly and to make use of natural light. Construction began in August, 2002 and was completed October 15, 2005.
This photograph was a little complicated to make. I stood on the second floor walkway of the building next door. I used 2 Sigma DP1 digital cameras mounted on 2 tripods about 3 feet apart. In order to encompass the entire image I had to make 2 exposures with each camera. The first was aimed straight ahead and the second was tilted upward to get the top of the building. I blended the parts of the image together using a computer program called Panorama Tools Graphic User Interface (PTGUI for short). The exposures were 1/8 second at f/8 (ISO 50). You can see the image in the format you prefer by clicking on one of the following: parallel, cross-eyed, or anaglyph (red/cyan glasses).
